Pakistan Society of Hepatology (PSH)

It is a great privilege and honour for me to give a brief introduction and History of PSH. Pakistan Society of Hepatology (PSH ) was founded in June 2001 and since then PSH is starving to improve practices of Hepatology in Pakistan. Today PSH has assumed a leading position to provide opportunities of development of professional competency and proficiency of those who come across liver diseases in everyday clinic practice. PSH organises regular seminars, conferences and meetings to achieve its aims and objectives. On 29th January 2017, PSH launched special interest groups covering 20 important areas of clinical Hepatology to produce guidelines, CME modules and research facilitation. Ethical review board has been constituted to streamline research activities at the platform of PSH and vision is to treat and prevent liver diseases in Pakistan. PSH has following 3 major projects for its members across Pakistan, first project is Expanding Primary Care Capacity to treat Liver Diseases, Second is POLL Project which stands for PSH Online Liver Learning and Third is PSL which is PSH Save the Liver. I hope in future, the society will further expand its program in the interest of public awareness and up to date knowledge for its members. Lastly I am thankful to PSH founder Prof. Dr. Sibitul Husnain who started the society as a founder and now PSH is the largest platform regarding research and experience in coping with challenges in everyday clinical practice.
